THINK AND GROW RICH….A New Chapter

THINK AND GROW RICH, the book by Napolean Hill, is one of my favorite books on Success, Money, Mindset and Imagination. A newer book, “Right to be Rich” that was released just a couple of years ago has some great quotes I want to share with YOU today. These are SUCCESS PRINCIPLES.

MASTERY

“WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU LACK IN EDUCATION OR KNOWLEDGE OR INFLUENCE YOU CAN ALWAYS OBTAIN THROUGH SOMEBODY WHO HAS IT.  EXCHANGE FAVORS AND EXCHANGE KNOWLEDGE IS ONE OF THE GREATEST EXCHANGES IN THE WORLD.”

GO THE EXTRA MILE

“I DON’T KNOW OF ANY ONE QUALITY OR TRAIT THAT CAN GET A PERSON AN OPPORTUNITY QUICKER THAN TO GO OUT OF HIS WAY OR HER WAY TO DO SOMEBODY A FAVOR, OR DO SOMETHING USEFUL.”

PURPOSE

“IF YOU WANT THE MIND TO PICK UP AN IDEA AND TO FORM A HABIT SO THAT THE MIND WILL AUTOMATICALLY ACT UPON THAT IDEA, YOU’VE GOT TO TELL THE MIND WHAT YOU WANT, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.”

FAITH

“THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND ONLY KNOWS WHAT YOU TELL IT, OR WHAT YOU ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE TO TELL IT OR WHAT YOU ALLOW THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF LIFE TO TELL IT…IT ACCEPTS THE THINGS THAT YOU SEND OVER AND IF YOU SEND OVER PREDOMINATING THOUGHTS ON POVERTY AND FAILURE, THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT YOU’LL GET.”

THINKING ACCURATELY

“THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS THAT YOUR EMOTIONS ARE NOT RELIABLE AT ALL.  THE EMOTION OF LOVE, IS THE GREATEST AND THE GRANDEST OF ALL THE EMOTIONS, AND YET IT CAN ALSO BE THE MOST DANGEROUS.  MORE TROUBLE IN HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS GROWS OF MISUNDERSTANDING THE EMOTION OF LOVE THAN ALL OTHER SOURCES OF DIFFICULTY COMBINED.”

BEING ENTHUSIASTIC

“IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING, WORK YOURSELF INTO A STATE OF WILD ENTHUSIASM AND GO TO WORK WHERE YOU STAND, EVEN IF IT’S NOTHING MORE THAN DRAWING A PICTURE IN YOUR MIND OF THE THING YOU WANT TO DO, AND KEEP DRAWING THAT PICTURE, MAKING IT MORE VIVID EACH TIME”

ADVERSITY

“ONE OF THE BEST THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU IS TO MEET PROBLEMS, CIRCUMSTANCES AND INCIDENTS THAT FORCE YOU TO THINK, WITHOUT MOTIVE, YOU MIGHT NOT DO MUCH THINKING ANYWAY.”

SELF DISCIPLINE

“BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SET YOUR HEART UPON BECAUSE, IF YOU SET YOUR HEART ON ANYTHING AND STAND BY THAT DECISION, YOU’RE GOING TO GET IT.”

What is BLOCKING YOU?

TAKE ACTION..NOW

Are you STUCK.?

Most entrepreneurs get stuck on STEPPING out and actually doing—doing whatever it takes to create momentum and supercharge their business.

The reason they are reluctant to take the action steps that will help them grow and prosper is FEAR.

They are afraid of failing; they are afraid of succeeding.

What if it works? What if it doesn’t?

And often they just stay STUCK…  sometimes just sitting in STUCK for a while until something changes.

The fact is that those entrepreneurs who face fear square in the face and OVERCOME this fear are the ones who find success and even more than success they learn how to face fear in all aspects of their lives which is HUGE.

Those who remain paralyzed by this fear leave their success to chance—and chance has never been a great leveraging tool and as you and I know, the big FEAR emotion will be coming back over and over again.

Are you frustrated because your business is stagnant and not growing? Are you afraid to take a risk for fear that you’re making a mistake?

Using FEAR as a fuel rather than something that continually stops you in your tracks is what an entrepreneur wants to achieve.

FOCUSING on the rewards and gains are worth the risk. Use FEAR to change directions and course correct.

It’s natural to want to avoid failure—that’s our subconscious protecting us from pain.

But did you know that most successful ventures only came to be after multiple failures?

In fact, some would claim that failure is a required component for success!

After all, it took Dyson 5,126 attempts to create a bagless vacuum cleaner.

After missing more than 9,000 shots in his career and losing 300 games, Michael Jordan said, “I have failed over and over again, and that is why I succeed.”

Thomas Edison agreed when he stated that he hadn’t failed 10,000 times when inventing the light bulb: “I’ve gotten results! I now know several thousand things that won’t work!”

Jack Canfield said, “Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”

That’s a fantastic mindset—imagine that fear is the door you must walk through in order to be successful. If you knew that, would you still be scared to open the door?

If you’re frustrated with the results you’re getting, try thinking of failure differently.

Rather than accepting it as the death of a dream, view failure as a temporary setback—a detour that is actually redirecting you toward the path to success.

Without failure, you might have steered yourself in the wrong direction for too long. With it, you’ve been given the opportunity to make changes and forge ahead, knowing this time, you won’t repeat the same mistake again.

The KEY is just do it. Try it. Keep moving forward toward what it is that is driving you in the first place. Stay with what it is you are wanting a RESULT.

When you learn from your mistakes, you’re one step closer to accomplishing your goals—and that’s SUCCESS, not failure.

It’s also proof that your mindset will determine whether you throw your hands up in the air and quit, or use your newfound and priceless knowledge to make another attempt to step toward your dream. My Dad had two “sayings” that I continue to remember and appreciate “When You Get To The End of Your Rope Tie A Knot, and Hold On”  and “Keep On Keeping On”. I have tied that knot many times and I bet you have too!

Take the plunge and get started for success.

Time for Change…REALLY

Aren’t you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

Did you know that over 80% of just about any audience I talk to today will raise their hand when I ask the question “How many of you don’t know what you want to do when you grow up?”

What if I told you I KNOW that you KNOW.

Yes, I know that you know what you are here to do, you are just a

“RESIST…ER”

It’s how we tick.

We do anything and everything to stay with what makes us most comfortable.

Change is not comfortable.

Ever.

Ever.

In fact, we resist change with every fiber of our being.

Why?

Because it means that in order to change we have to move into unknown territory.

And that makes us terribly uncomfortable. (And who isn’t a bit if not a LOT uncomfortable in today’s world?)

In fact, it paralyzes us!

It reminds me of the story about the death of a moth.

You know this story. You have witnessed this story numerous times.

The fly is in the window trying to get outside. He just keeps trying to get out of the window.

He will stay in that window until he dies ……when freedom is so close.

In fact, it is right behind him.

And what does he do?

He gives up. He doesn’t try. He dies.

His belief system is skewed.

The same story plays out when training an elephant to stay chained to a stake.

The training starts at a young age and the elephant is “trained” into believing that he can’t move from the stake when in fact he could easily ESCAPE!

Crazy. But true.

We have all played out this story in our lives. We have told ourselves we can’t do something.

Can’t BE something.

We even convince ourselves the lie is true.  That is right…. we convince ourselves that a LIE is a TRUTH!

The GOOD news is that we can change that story and create a new story.

A new reality.

I believe that this year is the time to DO IT.

I believe NOW is the time to DO IT.

I KNOW THAT NOW IS THE TIME TO DO SOMETHING. How about you?

Are you ready to create a new business?  A new ONLINE course?

Get serious about getting an On-Line business launched this year so you can work at your own pace and create your on transformation for yourself and others?

Have, Be and Do something different.

Get ready……!  I have some good news coming your way in how you can do EXACTLY what you want.  NOW!

GET INSPIRED…NOW!

We ALL need some inspiration.  Sometimes it is just a quote or a phone call from a friend or maybe just listening to a tape on the radio as we head to work.

 I LOVE quotes!

I keep them on my desk, refrigerator and sometimes on my mirror.  They are a reminder of what I want to strive to be and to think.

We are what we put our attention and focus on and we have a tendency to forget pretty quickly.

1.  “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr. Seuss

2.  “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” – Nido Qubein

3.  “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. Maya Angelou

4.  “Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.”                 – Marie Curie

5.  “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your  own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.” – Steve Jobs

6.  “The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who’s going to stop me.” – Ayn Rand

Read some inspiration every day.

7. “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” – Unknown

8. “Find peace in what you cannot change.” -Unknown

9. “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.” – Maya Angelo

10. “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” -Walt Disney

11. “You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Read some inspiration every day.

12. “ What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

13. “The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.” Vince Lombardi

What is a Kick-Ass Lifestyle and How to Get Started!

 Kick-Ass Lifestyle

What’s a Kick-Ass lifestyle?

It is simple….it is getting things done and making things happen. It’s about progress, results, and steamrolling past obstacles and challenges. It’s true that most people want a kick-ass lifestyle; however, it remains just beyond their reach, largely because they don’t know how to kick it in gear and make it happen.

The good news is there are ways to manifest such a lifestyle if you follow these tips!

1. Quick Decisions

You simply cannot kick ass when you’re dragging your feet.  Hesitation delays rewards.

The most successful people make decisions quickly.  It’s True!  Don’t wait until tomorrow, next month, or next year—make a decision so you can get moving toward what you want today. Everything in your life begins with a decision. As Tony Robbins says, “I believe that it’s in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.”

2. Let Go of   Controlling (Which isn’t Happening, Anyway!)

Let Go. We all have a natural tendency to TRY to control what’s happening to us and around us, but the more we attempt to exert control, the less control we actually have. It’s true.  Sometimes it is best to be OPEN to everything.  Let go of resistance and see what happens.

3. Tame the “FEAR FACTOR”

Fear of failure is one of the main reasons we don’t pursue goals or follow our dreams. The Fear factor is a huge impediment to a kick-ass lifestyle … and one that’s got to go quickly if you want to have the life you dream about, be what and who you want to be, and do the things that make you feel good.  Here is the thing about Fear..the biggest thing you should Fear is being STOPPED by it and not living the life you were meant to live.

Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will. Kick Ass means stopping yourself in your tracks when FEAR raises its ugly head. I

4.  Spend  Your Time with  POSITIVE People

We are the people we hang around with most. If you hang around with negative, unhappy people, you’ll become negative and miserable. Spend time with fun, happy and POSITIVE people—you’ll become optimistic, carefree, and get more enjoyment in your life as it unfolds before you. Remember .. Choose wisely. If your friends are not positive most of the time, find new friends.

5.  Take  “Timeout”

A creative mind comes with space and clarity. A year or so ago, I was in a Mastermind with Jeff Walker (my hero) and Jeff talked about taking one day off a week with NO distractions. This advice really resonated with most of the entrepreneurs that were there. What did he mean about no distractions? That means NONE. No phone. No e-mails. NADA. Find the time to just do something you enjoy and check-out for the day.

What happens? You’ll come back with all kinds of new energy and insights that come out of that “nothingness” space—the place where creation is born.

You might want to take some time today or this week to see where you are and what you might want to incorporate into your life to KICK-ASS your lifestyle.  Give yourself permission to really get honest about what IS holding you back and what it is you really want to BECOME and how to get on the path to creating whatever lifestyle resonates with you.

GO FOR IT…(After all it  is your one and only precious life!)

Limiting Belief Is Detrimental to Achievement

Most of us have a limiting belief of what we’re capable of “BEING,” “DOING,” or “HAVING”…..

I was out walking yesterday and thought to myself, “Why don’t I do this more often?”

Walk.

Millionaire Mindset Coach
Millionaire Mindset Coach

I could even do it every day.

But do I have a ‘limiting belief’ of what I can do?

I do think about my health and in fact, have begun to make some major changes in what I eat. (I will share that another time).

You know we all have good intentions at the beginning of each year and now that months have passed you might and we are half way through that year you might want to revisit those intentions and connect with your mindset and beliefs!

The MAIN thing to remember is that good intentions can’t be connected to a conflicting belief.

For example, if you have an intention of losing weight you might:

  • A.  Sign up for the gym
  • B.  Hire a personal trainer
  • C   Buy new exercise shoes for motivation
  • D   Set days of the week in your Google calendar to make your decision more concrete.

These are all good actions IF you “COMPLETED” would assist you in reaching your goal.

But, what happens when you find that a month later, you just didn’t follow thru.

Could it be that you just didn’t align your intentions with your beliefs?

And, why would that make such a difference?

Here are some examples of Intention vs Conflicting Limiting Beliefs

Intention – I want a wildly successful business. Limiting belief – I have never had over five clients

Intention – I want to be healthy. Limiting Belief –I am not capable of the diet thing

Intention – I want a loving relationship. Limiting Belief – I don’t believe I am lovable

Intention – I want to be a millionaire. Limiting Belief – I’ve never made over $45,000 Continue reading “Limiting Belief Is Detrimental to Achievement”

ENGAGEMENT FOR ENTREPRENEURS – Working My Business

A working business: You work it, it will work for you!

Do you continue to ask yourself “What it is that I need to “BE” to step up in my life?”

“Working business into life.”

Joseph Campbell, one of my favorite authors and teachers, once said that life is NOT about making a living.

Life is about “FEELING ALIVE.” Most entrepreneurs totally get that quote by working in their business.

For most entrepreneurs each day (well, nearly all) are filled with the creative process of taking an idea into some segment of their working business and creating something that they hope will bridge a gap for them.

Serving their clients in a real and more meaningful way.

Being more authentic in who they present to the world!

Today, I want to share this VIDEO with you….

I LOVE ROCK’N ROLL AND COACHING ENTREPRENEURS

Rock N Roll… “Those were the days”!

I love rock n roll

Who doesn’t love Rock ‘N Roll?

It conjures up visions of “Drove my Chevy to the Levy,” and “Good Golly Miss Molly.”

No matter where you are or what you’re doing, when the rock n roll music starts, it takes you back to a place and time that seem to have no space and time.

It just is!

There are so few places that jerk your being back into such immediacy.

To a clear body memory, hidden in that secret place some call “heart or soul.” Continue reading “I LOVE ROCK’N ROLL AND COACHING ENTREPRENEURS”

Tribute to Dr. Wayne Dyer “Don’t Die With The Music In You” 1940-2015

wayne dyer

One of my favorite authors and life mentors passed away this week, Dr. Wayne Dyer. You more than likely have read one of his many books or perhaps saw him on PBS. He was a man of conviction and a thought leader in an arena of many voices, but few as powerful as his.

Dr. Dyer was an internationally renowned author and speaker in the field of self-developement and spiritual growth. He is the author of over 40 books, including 20 New York Times Bestsellers. He was known as the Father of Self Development.

For those of us that followed Wayne Dyer since the 60’s and celebrated with him the break-throughs in our personal lives, as well as those around us, we will miss his bright smile, infinite wisdom, his authentic presence and his life changing works.

If you missed Dr. Dyers messages they are still available to you through his books and programs. (Hay House) Continue reading “Tribute to Dr. Wayne Dyer “Don’t Die With The Music In You” 1940-2015”
